We knew we wanted to build a youth ministry that went beyond the traditional programming that isolates kids from adults…The emphasis was not on creating a different program but a different foundation.

Youth Can Shape the Future
Just a few days ago, America elected a new president. What is so significant about it is that the younger generation significantly affected the outcome of the election. Their battlecry: CHANGE. The turn of events made me think about the youth in the Philippines. They comprise the almost a third of the country’s population. The potential of the youth to influence the nation is great. This great potential needs to be tapped to be useful.
In terms of natural resources and human talents, Philippines is very rich. However, economically and politically we are among the poorest in the world. We see a manifest spiritual hunger of the people. What makes me really sad is that we as a people are negatively portrayed outside the country. We really need change.
Why The Youth?
Because here is where the action is in Dasmariñas Cavite… The Youth are the needy and the unevangelized in Dasmariñas, Cavite Philippines. Dasmariñas, as a matter of fact, is one “boiling pot” of youth. Dasmariñas is the “University Belt “ of Southern Tagalog. It is the home of more than 12 major universities (not including high-schools and elementary levels) particularly De La Salle University—Dasmariñas, Technological University of the Philippines, Emilio Aguinaldo College, AMA College, St. Jude College, Guzman College, Systems Technology Institute, Philippine Christian University and much, much more… In one university alone there are 13,000 students!
Of these universities only two ministries are involved in Student Centers. There are a lot to harvest but only a few workers (Luke 10:2)..
