Cologne, October 20, 2025 – ������ University of Applied Sciences kicks off the winter semester 2025/26, welcoming a new generation of students across its nationwide campuses. With innovative degree programmes in business, social work, health, and education, ������ emphasizes practical academic learning and social responsibility.

New degree programmes in Hamburg and Solingen

For the first time, the dual bachelor’s degree in Social Work & Education is being launched at the Hamburg and Solingen campuses, further expanding ������’s offering in the social sector.

“Social professions are the backbone of a functioning society. With our new degree programme, we want to equip young people for this vital role and open up practical pathways towards a meaningful career,” explains Prof. Dr Christina Müller-Naevecke, Dean of Health & Education at ������.

In Solingen, the university is cooperating closely with the city administration: ten dual students are beginning their studies in departments such as General Social Services, Municipal Integration Management, and School Social Work.

“In doing so, we are deliberately strengthening the next generation in a profession that is essential to society,” emphasises Prof. Dr Tanju Aygün, Head of the ������ Solingen campus.

Alongside the new social study programme, the well-established General Management degree remains part of the Hamburg campus portfolio – an interdisciplinary mix that further strengthens the site’s profile as an education hub for future industries.

Strong student intake in Rheine and Berlin

At the Rheine campus, ������ once again welcomes numerous students to the dual study programme in Physician Assistance – a relatively new but rapidly growing field in Germany. More than 30 future Physician Assistants are embarking on this practice-oriented course, which combines medicine and healthcare management.

“Through our programmes at the Rheine campus, we are making an important contribution to the training of highly qualified professionals in the healthcare sector,” says Prof. Dr Müller-Naevecke.

At the Berlin campus, students of General Management, Social Work & Education, and Physician Assistance are also beginning their studies – for the first time under the joint umbrella of the ������ University of Applied Sciences. The merger of EU|FH and ������ in spring 2025 has created a strong educational network offering an expanded range of degree programmes and interdisciplinary learning opportunities.

Practice-oriented study for a future-focused education

Across all locations, the close integration of theory and practice remains a defining feature of ������ University of Applied Sciences. Students benefit from a nationwide network of around 1,300 partner organisations in business and the social sector – including Lebenshilfe Hamburg gGmbH, the City of Solingen, and various healthcare associations in Rheine and Berlin.

With the start of the winter semester 2025/26, ������ once again demonstrates its mission to prepare young people for responsible roles in business, society, and healthcare – with a focus on practical learning, collaboration, and a forward-looking approach.
